More about the bab quilt...

Well, I have the backing fabric now...and jut have to find the right batting.  I have contemplated using polarfleece, because it would belight, warm, and very washable.  Still deciding, as you can see!

A baby's quilt top complete!

So, it's been quite a while since I quilted, but I've recently been inspired by my friend Molly to get going again and set my knitting and crocheting aside for a bit...

There aren't many choices locally for fabric, so, in desperation, I purchased a jelly roll of vibrant, fairly solid, fabric and began a basic log cabin pattern, making 6 blocks.  I cut the remaining fabric into 2 1/2" squares and sewed them edge-to-edge to create longer strips of varied colors.  They worked really well to insert between and around the outside edge of the blocks!  Pressed back and front, here is the final result:
In retrospect, I see some changes that I could have made (isn't that always the case?), but I am satisfied with it, and look forward to backing and quilting it!

I am going to show the Mommy-to-be today, to get her thoughts...
